Arrested for Bank Robbery |
| A Bethesda, Md., man reportedly robbed a BB&T Bank, located
at 9915 Georgetown Pike, at about 4:30 p.m. March 11. Witnesses
at the scene provided police with a description of the man
and his vehicle. Officers pursued a vehicle matching that
of the description and attempted to stop it. The driver led
officers in a chase to the intersection of Leesburg Pike and
Downey Circle where they boxed him in. The 55-year-old man
was arrested and charged with robbery, possession of a firearm
by a felon, use of a firearm in the commission of a felony,
speeding to elude, larceny and two counts of possession of
narcotics. No injuries were reported. |

Fairfax County police reported the following incidents in
the Herndon and Reston area through March 12: |
| • An Xbox 360 video game system and video games were reported
stolen from a residence in the 1700 block of Ascot Way. |
| • Beer was reported stolen from a residence in the 1300
block of Concord Point Lane. |
| • A GPS was reported stolen from a vehicle in the 1100 block
of Dranesville Road. |
| • A license plate was reported stolen from a vehicle in
the 11900 block of Freedom Drive. |
| • A purse was reported stolen from a vehicle in the 9800
block of Georgetown Pike. |
| • Lawn care equipment was reported stolen from a residence
in the 12800 block of Lady Fairfax Circle. |
| • A phone was reported stolen from a business in the 11800
block of Market Street. |
| • A Sony PlayStation video game system was reported stolen
from a business in the 1800 block of Michael Faraday Drive. |
| • A portable Sony PlayStation video game system was stolen
from a residence in the 11600 block of North Point Court. |
| • A 2003 Yamaha motorcycle was reported stolen in the 13100
block of Fox Hunt Lane. |
