Volleyball Team Defeated
Team captain Lesley Buckingham spikes into a wall of Centreville players in the third of four sets, while co-captain Megan Roth, junior Jessica Strother and senior Kerry Little prepare to respond to the strong defense.

The Herndon girls’ varsity volleyball team fell to Centreville in four sets. The Hornets lost the first set 19-25 and seemed to be back in it when they won the second set 25-22, but then lost the last two sets 21-25 and 23-25. Herndon will go into the district tournament starting Oct. 29.
