Teen Charged in Two Burglaries
Fairfax County Police charged a teenage boy with two recent burglaries. On June 27, officers from the Reston Stations Selective Enforcement Team were patrolling the area that the burglaries occurred in and at about 9:40 p.m. they found a 17-year-old boy looking into the windows of a ground floor apartment in the 12000 block of Greywing Square. Officers took him into custody without incident.

Police said they determined that the 17-year-old was responsible for the two recent burglaries. One occurred on May 31 in the 2000 block of Royal Fern Court and the other occurred on June 21 in the 12000 block of Greywing Square. In the June 21 burglary at The Springs of Reston, a 22-year-old woman awoke to find an unknown male touching her. When she yelled, he fled out the unlocked sliding glass door, which was where he entered the apartment. The boy was transported to the Fairfax County Juvenile Detention Center and held on two counts of burglary. Further charges are pending.
