Two Arrested for Theft from County Bus System
Police have charged two employees of private contractors with taking money from Fairfax Connector bus fare boxes. Thong Khoune Sisaath, a 39-year-old Sterling resident, was arrested July 2 and charged with grand larceny and possession of burglarious tools. On July 3, Carl Alexander Rich, a 54-year-old Fairfax man, was arrested and charged with embezzlement, possession of burglarious tools and grand larceny. Rich is an employee of Veolia Transportation, which provides bus services for Fairfax County. Sisaath is employed by Aramark, which is sub-contracted by Veolia to provide maintenance and upkeep on Fairfax Connector buses. Investigators believe the thefts have occurred since October 2007, during overnight hours when buses are serviced at a facility at 268 Spring Street in Herndon. The investigation continues and further charges are possible.
 
Man Charged With Robbery
An 18-year-old Reston man was arrested for robbery just before midnight June 27. According to police, a 34-year-old Fairfax man was leaving a restaurant in the 1800 block of Fountain Drive when he got into an argument with the Reston man. The Reston man then walked away, but returned with a stick with which he reportedly assaulted the Fairfax man. Police said the Reston man fled the scene with the other man's cell phone after the incident. The 34-year-old was not injured in the attack. The Reston man was arrested near his home and taken to the Fairfax County jail. He was charged with one count of robbery.
 
The Fairfax County police reported the following incidents in the Herndon and Reston area through July 2:
• A newspaper was reported stolen from a residence in the 11800 block of Breton Court.
• Food was reported stolen from a business in the 2400 block of Centreville Road.
• A GPS unit was reported stolen from a vehicle in the 1600 block of Chimney House Road.
• Golf clubs were reported stolen from a vehicle in the 12600 block of Glenbrooke Woods Drive.
• Wine was reported stolen from a business near the intersection of McNair Farms Drive and Centreville Road.
• Money and a computer were reported stolen from a business in the 13300 block of Parcher Avenue.
• Beer was reported stolen from a business in the 11100 block of South Lakes Drive.
