Police Capture Suspected Burglar
Police responded to reports of a burglary and robbery at about 10 p.m. July 16 in the 2200 block of Castle Rock Square. A man allegedly assaulted a 17-year-old Reston teen and then demanded the teen's backpack. The man did not show a weapon during the incident, but he took the backpack. The robbery occurred just before police were called to a burglary in the same area. A 24-year-old Reston man was walking to his home and was followed by another man. When the Reston man opened the door to his home, the other man forced his way in and attempted to assault him. No one was seriously injured in either of the incidents. Officers checked the area and found a man matching the description the teen and Reston man provided. A 20-year-old Germantown, Md., man was arrested and transported to the Fairfax County jail where he was charged with burglary with the intent to assault, robbery and wearing a mask in certain places.
