Carjacking Reported
A 52-year-old Reston woman was carjacked at about 1:15 a.m. Saturday in a parking lot near the intersection of Dranesville Road and Leesburg Pike. She was standing near her car when an unknown man pushed her aside and took her 2004 Toyota Corolla. The woman had minor injuries, and the car was later discovered abandoned in Washington, D.C. The man was described as Hispanic, in his late 30s, about 5 feet, 9 inches tall with short hair. He wore a black T-shirt and blue jeans.
 
Attempted Robbery Reported at Town Center
Two men allegedly attempted to rob a 25-year-old Reston-area man at about 1 a.m. Sunday. The man reportedly exited the Metro bus at Bluemont Parkway and two other men followed him off the bus. As he crossed the street in Reston Town Center, the two men assaulted him and demanded his money and property. The man broke free, refused to comply and continued walking. The men fled the area on foot and no injuries were reported.
 
The Fairfax County Police Department reported the following incidents in Herndon and Reston through Sept. 24:
• Fifteen flat-screen televisions were reported stolen from a residence in the 1000 block of Aziza Court.
• A license plate was reported stolen from a vehicle in the 1600 block of Chimney House Road.
• A laptop computer was reported stolen from a business in the 11900 block of Freedom Drive.
• A wallet was reported stolen from a business in the 11900 block of Market Street.
• Beer was reported stolen from a business in the 13100 block of Parcher Avenue.
• A bicycle was reported stolen from a residence in the 1500 block of Powells Tavern Place.
• A 2001 Volkswagen was reported stolen in the 12000 block of Bowman Towne Drive.
