Opening its 17th season, the Elden Street Players Theatre For Young Audiences will present "The Fisherman and His Wife," written by Ruth Newton and produced by special arrangement with Samuel French, Inc. The show will open Saturday at the Industrial Strength Theatre in Herndon and runs through Nov. 16.
The play presents the tale of a fisherman who catches a magic fish that can grant him anything he desires. The fisherman asks for better homes, clothes, and riches, hoping to make his wife happy, yet it appears that she will not be pleased no matter how much she receives.
The cast of "The Fisherman and His Wife" includes veteran actors Elliot Dondero-Pettit, Jane Yurechko, Brian Garrison, Betsy Eames, Richard Durkin, Faqir Qarghah and Sue Klein, as well as newcomer Annie Durkin.
Performances of "The Fisherman and His Wife" will be held at 11 a.m. and 2 p.m. Saturday, and Nov. 8 and 15, noon Sunday, and 2 p.m. Nov. 9 and 16. All performances are at the Industrial Strength Theatre, located at 269 Sunset Park Dr. in Herndon. There will be a signed performance on Nov. 9. Tickets are $7 each.
